We ended a decade a few days ago. Let’s take inventory and identify our top five… the 5 best experiences of the last 10 years; and the 5 worst experiences of the last 10 years.

Has there been love? Has there been joy? We can possibly classify the loving and joyous experiences in the best column of the decade.
Has there been loss or toxicity? Then we can possibly classify these in the worst column of the decade.

In reviewing our top five, we can rinse and repeat the positive experiences. We can also position our hearts to receive the positive things coming our way in the upcoming year. How do we position ourselves?

Seek out love experiences. Pursue joy-filled activities. Watch our words and the words of others concerning us. Plant ourselves around peace. In an effort to maintain our love, joy, and peace, we will have to be purposeful and intentional about guarding our hearts and stewarding our environment. We must be proactive and remove toxicity from our lives.

Now here is the rub-what if we are the toxic waste of our own lives? Are you the doubt speaking saboteur of your future? The behavior can be modified. The attitude can be adjusted. We can clean it up in a snap by making different choices. All year we will discuss variations of this theme so that we are effectively pursuing God’s best for us.

If we’re the toxic people, let’s do the self work needed to become better versions of who we were created to be. We are wonderfully and beautifully made by the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Let’s live out our purpose and eliminate toxic behavior that marginalizes self and harms others. Be great in 2020. 🙂
