I’m pruning my rose bushes today. This is a necessary task when nurturing a garden. Pruning is the process of cutting vibrant flowers down to a smaller size so that they can grow bigger, better and bolder in the next blooming season.

At the initial cutting, it may seem that the once riotous blooms have been hacked…decimated by the shears…but just wait. There is a new season on the horizon. In the new season, the roses are going to be even more plentiful and have many more buds blooming with abandon. This is a direct result of pruning at the gardener’s hand.

Let’s make it personal and generalize this process to our own lives. Pruning happens when we need to grow, shift or elevate. It can be painful. It is often uncomfortable. However, it’s a short term sacrifice for a long term gain.

Reflection Quote:

Kasey Latta of KaseyLattaSpeaks shared in her Cut To Increase message, “If you decide to hold on to what you have now and what you’ve had before; you’ll never have open arms to receive your next. And this is the hard part about cutting to increase.”

Reflection Scripture: John 15:1–>5

Final Thoughts:

What does the Creator of the universe need to prune in your life? The Lord cares about our growth. What needs to be cut so that you can increase in prosperity of soul, mind, and body? Think about it. Honest reflection is the catalyst to an enhanced life. An enhanced life is host to better experiences, better relationships and a better you. 😉

Embrace the pruning process and declare that a better you is on the way.

Colin 🙂
