John Gray just spit some fire on the Breakfast Club Morning Show. The entire interview with John and his lovely wife, Aventer, was incredible, but about three minutes into the clip I was already shouting and grabbing my notepad.

The hosts mentioned the unbelieving state of young people today. This man of God agreed that young people are disenchanted with the Lord. He stated, “The problem is that the people who have said they represent God don’t have God’s heart. And so my thing is…if you don’t have HIS heart, don’t use HIS name.”

This. Knocked. Me. Off. Of. My. Feet.

We are the problem. We, the church, are the entire problem. Yes, there is a hardening of hearts towards all things godly. This is the consequence of an unloving generation of people wielding the bible as a weapon against others; thereby using it to control and intimidate. There is quite a bit of church hurt in the world. Church hurt can be classified as folk who have been hurt in church; and folk who have been hurt by church folk (or people that rep Jesus). This is unacceptable and I’m pretty sure it is displeasing to the Lord.

Pastor Gray goes on to share, “Jesus touched lepers and then healed them.” The Lord was with the people not against the people. He was comfortable among hurting people. He loved them and then met the need. He did not stand in judgment as he walked among mankind. This is how we, the body of Christ, fall short. We are supposed to be operating as the hands and feet of Jesus on this earth; but instead we are virtually slapping and kicking folk in the name of Jesus. We are knocking them down instead of building them up. We are stumbling and tripping over high levels of self-righteousness. Can we talk today? Can we shine a light on our foolishness?

We all sin and fall short of the glory of the Lord; so why the judgment and finger pointing. God doesn’t rank men according to their sin. There is no $5, $10, and $20 line in God’s heart. His heart sees us in our perfected states of redeemed, forgiven, set-free, restored, loved and delivered.

So if the Lord sees us as such, let’s follow suit. Overlook differences and love one another by any means necessary.

Do you have an experience that confirms Pastor Gray’s sentiment? Share below, if you’d like. 🙂

Having check this out I believed it was extremely enlightening. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to place these details together. I once again find myself spending plenty of time both reading and posting comments. But what exactly, it had been still worthwhile!

This is so true ! Many of us think we can just speak to the lord and get blessed . In reality we have to be dedicated to him so we can be blessed with his blessing ! Many of us don’t even pray and that is where it affects us

Perception of reality in the eyes of God has no lies. If you follow the teachings and believe in the heart what is taught, then the actions will be pure. Deception can be easily spotted if lied to especially to the face of God. For only the inner conscious knows what is doing is the right or wrong to do. Thank you for sharing!

Wow smh, I completely understood what Pastor Gray was trying to break down to us because I have seen it. A lot of kids claim their religion because it is what they are born into. However, don’t know a script out of the bible or even attend church but represent God. Some don’t even do that. It’s also becoming more common for kids to not believe at all and I feel that everyone at least once in a while people need to hear the word of God

Hurt people hurt people. We need to remember to walk in God’s love at all times to hopefully avoid hurting people.
